Casting lessons
Fly fishing isn't just a hobby. For many of us, it's a lifelong pursuit, and a great fly cast is the foundation of it all. I've learned that everyone has something to gain from focused, personalized coaching built around your goals and challenges. I break down the foundational mechanics of fly casting in a way that is easy to understand, and with the right guidance, patience, and practice, anyone can become a better fly caster.
Types of Lessons:
Beginner: Whether you just purchased your first outfit or you have been at it for a few years, there is a lot to be gained from this course and is the very best way to build fundamental skills and accelerate your learning curve. These lessons will breakdown the foundational concepts, mechanics and ideas of basic fly casting and present them in a way that is easy to understand and apply.
Intermediate/Advanced: This lesson is designed to to work on intermediate to advanced casting skills such as, Double hauling, casting in the wind, casting heavy or very wind resistant flies, sinking lines and other various situational casting skills needed for a productive day on the way.
This lesson can and is often tailored to something specific that you want to work on. Just let me know what you have in mind and I’ll create a customized lesson plan designed to help you get better!
Saltwater Prep: Maybe you have spent several years fly fishing in freshwater and you now have an upcoming trip to the salt. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how many times I have hosted anglers in saltwater destinations all over the world only to find out that they haven’t done any preparation or practice for the trip they are now on. They end up spending the majority of their trip just knocking the dust off or working out the kinks only to find it’s time to go right when they are getting the hang of things. Fishing trips and time are so valuable. Spending a couple hours and a couple hundred bucks on some casting lessons and practice is money well spent.
Send me an email, let me know where you are going and when and I can help put together a plan that will help you build confidence, ensure the enjoyment of your trip and minimize the frustration of getting all the way there and not being ready.
