A four hour deep dive into fly fishing for Carp, from the vise to the water. The class will begin on the vise, learning two proven carp patterns. Then there will be a presentation on gear, rigging and how to successfully target carp. We’ll wrap the class up by wading the river so you can put the morning’s lessons into practice.

Introduction to Carp on the Fly: Tying and Fishing Class
A four hour deep dive into fly fishing for Carp, from the vise to the water. This class covers everything you need to start targeting one of the most exciting and rewarding species on the fly.
What we’ll cover:
9:00am -11:00am Fly Tying: Learn to tie two proven carp patterns from start to finish. All materials will be provided. Vise, basic tools and thread are required.
11:00am -12:00pm Carp 101: Gear, rigging, reading water, feeding behavior, and what to look for when hunting/stalking carp on the fly.
12:00pm -1:00pm On the Water: We’ll wrap the class up by wading the river so you can put the morning’s lessons into practice and see firsthand how to approach a piece of water.
Whether you’ve never casted to a Carp or you are looking to dial in your approach, this class will help sharpen your game at the vise and on the water!
Basic fly tying skills and mechanics are required for this class.
