Streamer Fly Tying Class: Galloup's Tips Up

Galloup's Tips Up: A variation of a cult classic, the Circus Peanut, with modern twists, built for the Mad River.

The original articulated streamer, the Circus Peanut has earned a cult following for a reason. It’s a platform that catches fish everywhere, in every season and under many different conditions. The “Tips Up” is one of our favorite and most productive variations of the Circus Peanut for the Mad River.

During the class, you'll learn to tie the Tips Up, and learn why material selection and proportions are critical to fly performance. Pat will also talk about how to fish the Tips Up, how to adapt streamer tactics to what the Mad demands and how you can bring bigger fish to hand. Our goal is for you to leave with better tactics and techniques, a sharper eye for streamer design, and more consistency both at the vise and on the water.

Basic tools and a vise are required. Materials will be provided.
